No need to preheat a giant oven for 4 treats! These British strawberry scones burst with fluffiness in 12 minutes, ideal for your breakfast or afternoon tea.
Ingredients
- 8.5 oz all-purpose flour
- 2.1 oz fine granulated sugar
- 3.2 oz cold butter
- 3 oz chopped strawberries
- 4 fl oz heavy cream
- 2 eggs
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar.
Cut cold butter into small cubes. Using fingertips, rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Incorporate the chopped strawberries into the mixture.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and one egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir gently to combine.
Form the dough into a thick disc. Cut into equal wedges. Brush the tops with the remaining beaten egg. Place on parchment paper and bake at 350°F for 12 minutes.
