The magical Middle Eastern meatballs, but in a fit version. Air-fried chickpea falafels for 15 minutes develop a golden, crumbly crust without being deep-fried in rivers of oil. Perfect inside a pita.
Ingredients
- 17.6 oz cooked chickpeas
- 1 white onion
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Ground cumin
- Garlic cloves, crushed
- 0.7 oz tahini
Instructions
In a food processor, pulse the cooked chickpeas with parsley, cilantro, ground cumin, and tahini. Maintain a coarse texture; do not process into a fine puree.
Finely dice the onion and crush the garlic. Fold into the chickpea mixture and press firmly to form a compact dough.
Form the mixture into small, firm spheres with a smooth surface.
Place spheres in the air fryer basket, spaced apart. Spray lightly with oil. Cook at 340°F for 15 minutes, turning halfway through for even browning.
